Andrew: "It's to remind you what you should do."
Me: "What should I do?"
Andrew: "You'll see. It's taped to the bathroom door."
I went to the bathroom to find this sign hanging on the door:
It shows a crossed-out picture of me reading a book while using the facilities.
The next picture is me NOT reading a book while using the facilities. This course of action, as you can see, is encouraged.
Unfortunately his warning has gone completely unheeded as reading in the bathroom numbers among my favorite activities. (TMI?)

ReplyDeleteJenny, you really should wear clothes, too, while not reading and using the facilities. I'm just saying . . . maybe that was the subtle REAL message Andrew was trying to get across.

ReplyDeleteWhat in the world!!?? That is so funny. So why does Andrew feel so strongly about this? Maybe cause he can't be right next to you reading about the civil war and so he can teach all the other kindergartners about Robert E. Lee. He feels like you are hogging all the knowledge and he wants to be included. Oh man, what a funny kid. Those pictures of you have an amazing likeness. (since I have seen you reading in the bathroom - I should know) Well done Andrew!
ReplyDeleteThe reason he cares is that for some reason he wants me to be available and not to be a voice behind the door. (Oh, and I also stay longer when I have a book--a lot longer when it's a good book)

Hi Jenny, I am here from cjane...just to clarify: Abraham, Isaac and David were not prophets. God did not command them to have multiple wives, and each got into big trouble when they broke their marriage vows....which is very clear in the Bible. God originated marriage and it is one man, one woman for life...not eternally....this is a "picture" of Christ and His Bride...the Church.
ReplyDeleteLots of books are beneficial and enjoyable...I am a librarian so I am a real lover of books, but there is only one book that is the Word of God, that is the Bible. Sincerely, Cathy

ReplyDeleteI do believe the world is full of many good people, Mormons included. I am also very happy we live in a free country where people can openly practice any form of religion they might desire. I certainly would not attempt to bully or intimidate anyone who did not believe as I do...on the other hand, if I believe in the Truth and feel an obligation to at least identify with the gospel of Jesus Christ, who is God, the son(second person of the Holy Trinity), then, I must.
Romans 1:16 says, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ..." I think your gospel and mine are not the same. One of us is right, the other is wrong and my bible says we only get one chance at choosing who we will serve. (Hebrews 9:27) So, for the love of human beings, we are commissioned to "go, teach, baptise and make disciples" this command came from the risen savior. There is only one way and one truth and believing an error will have eternal consequences...for as much as I believe in a loving God who sacrificed His only Son to pay the penality for my sin...I also believe in a Holy God who cannot abide sin. Hell is the consequence for believing an error. Matthew 7:22-23 says "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy Name? And in Thy name have cast out devils? And in Thy name done many wonderful works? and then will I Profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
I don't know about you, but I do not want to hear this when I see Jesus!

Dear Jenny, thanks for the dialog. I did not expect to change you or your beliefs, but perhaps shed a bit of light. I have spent alot of time learning about different faiths and why they are not Christian because my parents belong to the World Wide Church of God. I needed to know why their beliefs made them outside the Christian faith. There are some very fundamental doctrines that must be evident in order to be Christian. The first is Jesus. He is God, not created, always exsisting, second person of the Trinity. I won't take up any more space discussing theology, you have been very kind, I wish you well.
